Napoleon and his partner Antosia - who have been an item for ten years - are now back together after being separated following complaints from parents about the duo’s amorous activities.

Lydia Dudziak, a local conservative official with the Law and Justice party, took parents’ concerns to the director of the zoo in Poznan, who agreed to separate the pair to avoid causing further offence.

But the zoo has since acknowledged making an error, and yesterday moved both donkeys to the same pen once more.

Close to 7,000 people signed a petition calling for the pair to be reunited, while two separate fan pages on Facebook garnered nearly 10,000 likes.

Incredibly, health experts got involved while it became a talking point for politicians on the country’s top TV news shows.

A spokesman for Law and Justice refused to defend Dudziak’s actions, adding: “It’s a level of absurdity.”

Napoleon and Antosia have produced six offspring in their decade together.
