Database to track German neo-Nazis

Germany is to create a national database on far-right extremists amid criticism its agencies failed to detect a neo-Nazi terror group for years.

Interior minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said the database will be modelled on a similar registry for Islamic extremists.A neo-Nazi group formed in 1998, and suspected of murdering nine foreigners and a policewoman, was only unmasked last week.
