Daryl Hannah for tying self to White House gates

ACTRESS Daryl Hannah has been arrested after tying herself to the gates of the White House in Washington in protest at a proposed oil pipeline from
Canada.

The Splash star was among celebrities and environmental activists demanding that President Barack Obama reject the Keystone XL project, which they say would carry “dirty oil” that contributes to global warming.

Many business groups support the 1,700-mile pipeline as a source of jobs and a step towards North American energy independence.
