Colosseum in line for £19.6m revamp

A €25 million (£19.6m) restoration of Rome’s Colosseum, built in 72AD by the Emperor Vespasian, will begin in December.

Officials said the work, financed by Diego Della Valle, founder of leather goods maker Tod’s, will take 2½ years but the monument will remain open.
