Cash machine blast rips bank apart

A BANK in a German town has been nearly destroyed in a powerful explosion, apparently caused by would-be thieves trying to open a cash machine.

Debris from the blast early yesterday, in Nottuln, in north-western Germany, flew 260ft and two buildings across the street were damaged. No-one was hurt.
