Brazil poised to opt for French fighter

Brazil is “very likely” to choose France’s Rafale fighter jet to re-equip its air force, government sources have said.

The other two bidders are Boeing with its F-18 Super Hornet and Saab with its Gripen.

India announced on 31 January that it had entered exclusive talks with manufacturer Dassault to buy 126 Rafales. The aircraft’s future was in doubt before the order was announced.
