Belgium set to get government at last

Belgium may have a government next week, after nearly 19 months without one, Elio Di Rupo, the country’s chief negotiator in charge of forming a cabinet, said yesterday, after political parties reached a deal on the 2012 budget.

Belgium has set a modern-day record for being without a formal government, following elections last June.
