Airport victory for Libya’s NTC

A LIBYAN militia which took control of Tripoli’s airport after Col Muammar al-Gaddafi’s overthrow said yesterday it would hand it to government forces.

The decision by Zintan militia is a boost for the National Transitional Council, which has faced criticism for failing to rein in armed group. NTC leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil hit out this week after rebels in the eastern city of Benghazi declared a semi-autonomous state, they called Barqa.
