12 executed over Dujail massacre

Iraq has executed 12 people for their involvement in the 2006 killing of 70 people at a wedding in central Iraq, the ministry of justice said.

The massacre, in the predominantly Shia town of Dujail, occurred during the height of the sectarian violence after the US-led invasion that toppled Sunni dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003.
