World Cup trials begin

Football hopefuls from Lothian are embarking on a dream experience by joining the road to the Homeless World Cup in Paris 2011.

Players from socially disadvantaged backgrounds took part in trials yesterday to try to win a place in Scotland's squad for the finals in Paris between August 21 and 28.

New Scotland "Homeless World Cup" manager Ally Dawson said: "Each player is experiencing some challenges in their lives but when it comes to wearing the blue of Scotland, they all show wonderful passion and determination."
