Woman rescued in house blaze

A WOMAN was rescued by a neighbour after a blaze broke out at a semi-detached house.

The blaze took hold at the property in High Street, Prestonpans, East Lothian, shortly after 10pm on Saturday, fire crews said.

Firefighters from Musselburgh and Newcraighall put out the blaze, which had started in the bedroom.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: “A 36-year-old female was rescued from the property by a neighbour.”

She said an invest-igation was under way into the cause of the fire.
