Woman pleads guilty to £7k benefits cheat

A MUM-TO BE has admitted claiming £7000 in benefits to which she was not entitled.

Lianne Davis, 31, of Dunbar, East Lothian, pleaded guilty at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday to illegally receiving £3000 in income support and £4000 in housing benefit and council tax benefit.

She claimed the money after failing to tell officials her personal circumstances had changed. She claimed she was single between June 2007 and October 2008 when she was in fact living with her partner in Addiewell, West Lothian.

Sheriff Martin Edington deferred sentence for reports.
