Woman 'fatally stabbed' war veteran in row over children

A FORMER lover stabbed a Gulf war soldier to death after a drunken row over the veteran leaving their children home alone, a court has heard.

The High Court in Inverness yesterday heard that Yvonne Lambert, 34, then scrubbed blood-soaked knives and her hands clean after killing David McLaughlan, 44, on 14 July last year. The jury was told she did so with the intention of preventing the discovery of evidence pertinent to the investigation of the crime and with the intention of avoiding detection and arrest. Lambert, who is accused of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice, denies all charges.
