Woman in court over £45k crack cocaine seizure

A 46-year-old woman is to appear in court today after police seized £45,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin at Aberdeen bus station.

Police officers swooped on Tuesday morning as the woman disembarked a bus arriving from London.

Detective Sergeant Barry Stewart said: “This was an intelligence led operation that saw officers seize a substantial quantity of drugs and further demonstrates our commitment to bringing those involved in this vile trade to justice.

“Drugs and the crime and disorder they inevitably bring in their wake blights the lives of ordinary people living in Aberdeen, but this seizure reiterates that we are committed to reducing the harm caused by controlled drugs.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about those involved in drug supply to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.”

The woman is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court later.
