Johnston is further accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

She pled not guilty to the charges today and has lodged a special defence of self-defence.

She appeared for a brief preliminary hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh today, where it was decided that the trial should be held in May.

Judge Lord Bannatyne heard that the trial, to be held at the High Court in Glasgow, could last 10 days.
