Woman, 50, tied up and robbed in her flat

A WOMAN was threatened at knifepoint, tied up and robbed by three masked men.

They forced their way into the 50-year-old's flat in Glasgow's Nithsdale Road, Pollockshields, between 1:45pm and 2pm on Friday and stole jewellery and a four-figure sum of cash.

The woman's family returned home at 2:30pm and found her distressed. She was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where she was released after treatment for minor injuries.

Detective Sergeant Jim Leckie of Gorbals Police Office yesterday said: "This was a terrifying experience for this woman, who is extremely upset and shocked by this robbery.

"Officers have been carrying out extensive inquiries since Friday afternoon. I would now like to appeal to the public for any further information.

"Descriptions of those responsible are that they were of average height and build, and wore black coloured ski masks or balaclavas. They were all wearing black or dark-coloured, long-sleeved clothing."
