Witnesses sought as driver is charged over A956 death

A MOTORIST has been charged in connection with the death of a pedestrian who was killed in a collision with a car on the outskirts of Aberdeen.

Angus MacKenzie, 38, died on Friday after being struck by a car as he tried to cross the southbound carriageway of the A956 at Wellington Road, close to the unclassified road leading to Cove.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said yesterday that a 62-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal collision.

He said: "A report will be submitted to the procurator-fiscal in due course."

The spokesman added: "Grampian Police would like to renew the appeal for witnesses in connection with this incident and would urge anyone who may have seen this collision or who may have information to contact them as soon as possible."
