Witnesses to Haddington attack sought

A MAN was struck over the head with a bottle during an attack outside a pub.

The 20-year-old was assaulted after a dispute broke out beside the Gardeners Arms pub in Haddington.

Three men approached the victim before one of them struck him with a bottle in Kilpair Street at 12.55am on Sunday. Two men were detained and released without charge pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: "Unfortunately, we do not have a significant description of the suspects at this time and so the assistance of the public is key to helping find those responsible.

"Anyone who was in or around Kilpair Street in the early hours of Sunday and remembers seeing anything suspicious should contact police immediately.

"Anyone who can provide a description of the suspects or who can assist in identifying them should also get in touch."
