Winning firms share £1m

THE winners of a Dragon's Den-style competition to help spearhead the regeneration of the Torry area of Aberdeen have been announced.

Each of the six winners of the Retail Rocks contest, backed by more than 1 million in funding from the Scottish Government and Aberdeen City Council, are being offered the chance to breathe new life into the suburb's retail sector by opening up a new business in one of six empty shop units.

The entrepreneurs will be able to run their shops rent free for a year and they will also be offered support and mentoring from business experts to help their business grow and flourish.
