Who’s up for
Olympic city
challenge?

COMMUNITY services in the Lothians for people with mental illness and learning disabilities are to benefit from a virtual tour of the world’s Olympic
cities.

Teams of up to 30 individuals are being invited to run, walk and cycle the distance from London to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil as part of the Cornerstone Challenge.

Among the projects helped by funds raised will be the children’s centre in Ormiston, East Lothian, and the Uphall service in West Lothian, which provides services for people with autism, mental health issues and learning disabilities.

The Scotland-wide challenge, which began on Saturday, will take place over 15 days.

Vanessa Smith, Cornerstone co-ordinator, said: “Cycling, running and walking as much as you can for 15 days to clock up as many miles as you can and your miles will move you along the virtual route and up your league.”
