Storm Darcy: Snowmen spotted reading The Scotsman in Dunblane as temperatures hit record lows

A couple of snowmen have been snapped catching up with current events in Dunblane as they enjoy the wintry weather.

Dunblane resident, Jacqueline Malley’s creations took social media by storm as she made a cosy scene showing a snowman and his wife.

She said: “During these testing times it is so important to stay positive.

"I had a little spare hour yesterday morning when we had the heavy snow, so I set about making a snowman .

"Low and behold 24 hours later and he not only had gained the blessing of a wife, a few thousand social media (positive) reactions, maybe about a couple of thousand shares and hundreds of positive comments.

"He (Jock) and his wife are out today again pictured reading the paper and his wife doing her knitting.”

Storm Darcy hit the country at the start of the week, with heavy snowfall from Monday through to Wednesday.

Some areas of the Scotland reached record levels with over 70cm of snow.
