Scotland weather forecast: high winds warning issued for parts of the country
The Met Office said strong winds are expected to affect parts of Scotland, particularly the north and west coast including Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Siar, Orkney and Shetland, South West Scotland, Lothian Borders and Strathclyde.
The warning is in place from 9pm on Wednesday through to 3pm on Thursday afternoon.

Hide AdResidents in the areas affected are expected to experience winds of up to 60 to 70 mph.
A statement on the Met Office website reads: “Winds are expected to strengthen for a time this evening and overnight.
"A swathe of stronger winds is expected to move southwards across parts of coastal Scotland and Northern Ireland and it is likely that some places may see gusts of 60 to 70 mph for a time.
"This may coincide with high tides leading to a greater potential for coastal impacts.”
