Incredible NASA footage shows the Highlands covered in snow

Incredible footage from space has shown the extent of the snowfall over the Highlands.

Heavy snow fell across the country as the much of the UK was hit by wintry conditions.

The picture was taken from NASA’s Terra Satellite Earth Observing System which travels north to south on the daylight side of the Earth every 99 minutes and is the size of a smal school bus.
