Wars machine goes on display

Typhoon 2, the UK Robot Wars TV grand champion, is on display at the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

This is its first public appearance after winning the silver medal at the World Robot Olympics in San Francisco, where it sustained major damage while defeating a similar spinning robot and could not be repaired in time to compete in the final.

Edinburgh-made Typhoon 2 has been refurbished and can be seen at the City Art Centre until April 14.

Typhoon 2 was designed and made by a team of volunteer engineers from Selex Galileo, working with a team of Edinburgh air cadets under the leadership of former RAF test pilot Peter Bennett.
