Warm front moving in

RESIDENTS in East Lothian are being urged to be wary of rogue operators, as surveyors from a council-approved free home insulation programme begin visits.

The team, from Everwarm, will be knocking doors around the county to offer a free no-obligation technical survey. Its surveyors will be wearing a dark blue Everwarm uniform and have a letter of authority along with a photo identity badge.

Councillor Willie Innes, housing spokesman, said: “Householders should be cautious when someone claiming to be working on behalf of the council knocks on the door. Always ask for proof of identity, especially before inviting them into your home. Everwarm, which is working with the council to improve home insulation, can be easily identified and trusted to carry out their work professionally and efficiently.”
