War plaque honours sons

ARTISTS are being sought to tender for a memorial plaque to honour the sacrifice made by a Haddington family during the First World War.

Seven sons from the Cranston family went into battle, with just one returning unscathed. Four brothers were killed in action while another two were horrifically injured. The Imperial War Museum in London and the Scottish National War Memorial in Edinburgh have said no other Scottish family made a greater sacrifice.
