The Lithuanian businessman heaped praise on the Hearts players for their 5-1 win over Hibs before condemning those who “try to control” football. In a statement on the club’s website, he said: “Let me congratulate all the supporters of the club and people of Edinburgh! I cannot join your celebration but I am with you in my heart. Hearts has got the best answer to the lies and injustice we have faced. This is the best reply you could give to the likes of Murdoch and those who try to control Scottish football for the last 50 years.”
