Video ‘trap’ in rape trial

A FRIEND of an alleged rape victim tried to entrap the accused by video recording a phone call between the pair, a court has heard.

But the video – which showed the alleged victim apparently smiling – only captured part of the conversation.

The friend told the High Court in Livingston: “My idea was to record the phone call to get him to admit what he’d done.”

Jonathan Clason, 28, of Stockbridge, denies rape. The trial continues.
