Video: RNLI rescue duck hooked by angler
It is a tale often heard in fishing circles but rarely witnessed and thankfully this is one story that had a happy ending.
A crew from RNLI Anstruther were on their way back from a routine exercise when they noticed a duck had become snagged on the end of a pier fisherman’s line.
The crew are shown in the video acting speedily and carefully untangling the bird from the line before it takes flight and makes off hastily back into the open water.
A spokesman from RNLI Anstruther said it was “one of their more unusual rescues”.
