Upbeat hotel boss says city is 'bucking trend'

THE boss of a leading hotel chain has insisted she is optimistic about the performance of the city's hotel sector this year.

Angela Vickers, managing director of the Apex Hotel Group, said Edinburgh continues to "buck the trend", with Homecoming helping to play a major part in the strong 2009 performance. She said: "Edinburgh has so much to offer visitors and with good transport links, together with our many events and festivals, we are in a strong position to compete with other European cities."
