Uni hub open for business

QUEEN Margaret University’s Business Innovation Zone has been opened by Scottish entrepreneur and university chancellor, Sir Tom Farmer.

A major part of the new initiative is a Business Gateway office, run by East Lothian Council but housed within the university.

Queen Margaret said it was the first time a Business Gateway had been incorporated into a university campus in ­Scotland.

Small businesses from the Lothians will be able to access advice, support and training opportunities, with the focus being on supporting small business start-ups and encouraging students and graduates to develop as entrepreneurs.
