Purves looks back at BBC sexism

BROADCASTER Libby Purves has spoken out about the sexism she experienced during her early years at the BBC.

Purves, who presents Midweek on Radio 4, said “sexism has faded” but that she had encountered years of “disrespect”. She said her memories were rekindled by a workplace survey, prompted by the Savile scandal.
