THE Duchess of Cambridge has been forced to cancel an appearance at today’s UK premiere of The Hobbit.

She is still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, literally excessive vomiting in pregnancy.

A St James’s Palace spokesman said: “The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend The Hobbit premiere [in London] and will continue to rest privately. The Duke of Cambridge will attend as planned.”

Over the weekend, the Kate’s bouts of vomiting intensified to such a degree that Prince William pulled out of the British Military Tournament on Sunday evening to be with her.

St James’s Palace has stressed it will not be giving daily updates about Kate’s health. But although she is still suffering from the condition she may be experiencing less vomiting, so Prince William feels able to attend the premiere.
