Women show the spirit for business

More women started up new businesses in the past 12 months than in the previous year, with cleaning, beauty and hairdressing the most popular trades.

Simply Business, an online business insurance broker, reported a 12 per cent increase in female-run start-ups this year, with women accounting for 37 per cent of all start-up businesses, up from 33 per cent.
