Women to lose out on cheap insurance

Women are being urged to act swiftly to renew their car insurance policies ahead of European rules which will ban insurers from taking gender into account.

A ruling by the European Court of Justice means from 21 December insurers can no longer consider gender. Women have previously benefited from lower car insurance due to their lower accident rates.
