University bridge fall woman dies

A WOMAN has died after falling from a bridge at a university.

Police were called to Claremont bridge, which adjoins Newcastle University’s Claremont Tower, at about 12:30pm yesterday, following reports of the fall.

Officers said the woman died at the scene.

A spokesman said: “Police inquiries are ongoing.”
