Kent: Plans for a giant white horse have been submitted for planning approval.

The artwork – a horse standing on all fours at 33 times life-size – is by Turner Prize-winner Mark Wallinger and would dominate the landscape near Ebbsfleet International railway. Gravesham Borough Council has the final say.

Leicestershire: A man who wore military medals he did not earn at an Armistice Day parade was given a community order after admitting the offence.

Roger Day, 61, of Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, was arrested after attending a parade in Bedworth, Warwickshire, on 11 November wearing 17 medals on his suit.
