UK families £343 billion worth of free childcare

UK families receive £343 billion worth of free childcare a year thanks to parents, grandparents and other relatives, according to research using figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The value, based on gross wages, is equivalent to 23 per cent of the UK’s gross domestic product.
