TV star’s murder trial drug claim

A FORMER soap star yesterday told a jury he had no idea he was driving an alleged gunman to the scene of a murder.

Brian Regan, who played Terry Sullivan in Channel 4’s Brookside, said he was having “a line of cocaine” when Bahman Faraji, 44, was shot in the street.

Regan, 54, is accused of driving Edward Heffey to and from the shooting in Aigburth, Liverpool, in February. The former actor denies murder alongside Heffey, 40, Lee Dodson, 42, and Simon Smart, 32, all of Liverpool.

Regan told Liverpool Crown Court he had ferried Heffey to the scene, but thought it was so he could collect drugs money.

The trial continues.
