Slug danger for dogs due to wet weather

A SLUG “slimewave” is sweeping Britain because of the wet weather, experts have revealed.

Rising numbers of dogs are contracting lungworm through eating infected slugs which have doubled, or even tripled, in population.

The disease can cause lethargy, breathing difficulties, occasional vomiting, coughing, nose bleeds and can be fatal.

Dog charity the PDSA has seen a dramatic increase in the number of dogs who have contracted the disease this year.
