Six Nations set for 3D screening

TWO games from the 2010 Six Nations rugby tournament will be broadcast live in 3D in a European first.

England v Wales and England v Ireland will be screened in 3D at 40 Odeon and Cineworld cinemas across England next month.

Sponsors O2 said the 3D cameras would give rugby fans the closest experience possible to the atmosphere inside Twickenham Stadium.

A spokesman for O2 said last night that, although the broadcasts would be available only in England, they were not "averse" to bringing the technology to Scotland in the future.
