Sir Alex third in rich list

SIR Alex Ferguson is the only Scot to make the top ten of Britain's richest football club managers.

Fabio Capello leads the list of the richest managers, it was revealed yesterday. With an estimated fortune of 34 million, he emerged as the wealthiest manager in The Sunday Times Sport Rich List 2010.

Capello, 63, is believed to be the highest-paid England manager in history, with a reported 6.5m-a-year contract. Ipswich Town boss and ex-Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane is second with 30m.

His riches outstrip that of his former boss, Sir Alex, the long-standing Manchester United manager, who, with a fortune of 24m occupies third spot.

Elsewhere, the top ten is dominated by foreign coaches, and in particular Italians. Chelsea's Carlo Ancelotti holds fourth spot with 21m, followed by the Republic of Ireland boss, Giovanni Trapattoni, with 18m.
