Keith Perry has told his congregations seeing his daughter - once a church singer - worshipped like a God has made him weep.

And the preacher, touring the US with wife Mary, has urged followers to “pray for Katy”, a “devil child” who needs “healing”.

THe singer’s father also said that Perry’s hit I Kissed A Girl had prompted churchgoers to accuse him of double-standards.

Speaking in Santa Fe Springs, California, he said: “They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl?

“I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000. I’m watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church.

“I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They’ve loving and worshipping the wrong thing.”

Singer Perry, 28, was married to comedian Russell Brand until their divorce last July.
