Singer faces uphill battle with taxman

US PROSECUTORS have charged ex-Fugees R&B singer Lauryn Hill with wilfully failing to file income tax returns.

Hill is accused of failing to file returns over a three year period when she is reported to have earned more than $1.6 million (£1 million).

Her primary source of income is royalties from the records and films.
