Seven-year-old boy raises £80,000 for Haiti

London: A seven-year-old boy has raised tens of thousands of pounds to help survivors of the Haitian earthquake.

Charlie Simpson, from Fulham, set out to raise 500 for Unicef's Haiti appeal by riding his bike five miles around his local park, but his efforts inspired hundreds of people online, who donated more than 80,000 in one day alone.

Essex: Ilford has been named Britain's luckiest town with more lottery winners per person than any other postcode.

Ilford's postcode, IG, claimed pole position in a survey with a top prize winner for one in every 6,722 ticketholders, the National Lottery said.
