Raymond Robertson, 41, pretended to his terrified victim that he was playing a game, then used gaffer tape and cord to tie her against a bunk bed and took pictures as she struggled to get free.

The high risk sex offender shared the photo online with other men, leading to a police raid on his home which uncovered school uniforms, a hoard of child sex abuse images and incriminating Skype and email messages.

Police Scotland was alerted by Cheshire Constabulary following the arrest of convicted paedophile Terry Moore, from Chester, Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard.

This led to a police raid in March 2014 on a house in Stewarton, Ayrshire, where Robertson was then living.

Items including school skirts and underwear were seized, along with a laptop computer containing indecent images of children.

Detective sergeant Fraser Normansell said colleagues in Cheshire sent two sets of images after seizing a computer which contained pictures of schoolgirls, who were identified as pupils at a primary school in the west of Scotland.

Robertson’s home was raided and the clothing and other evidence was recovered.

Wheelchair-user Robertson, of Paisley, gave “no comment” police interviews but after being charged asked for a solicitor.

A jury found him guilty of taking, possessing and distributing child sex abuse images; messaging others while exchanging pictures of schoolgirls; discussing vile acts, and ‘obtaining sexual gratification from watching them struggle and suffer’.

Robertson was also convicted of causing a child to participate in sexual activity, performing an indecent act and photographing the activities.

Robertson had his sentence extended by two years for monitoring after his release and had his name added to the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
