Scientists crack ‘work on an egg’ slogan

GOING to work on an egg – as people were urged to do in the 1960s – may be sound scientific advice, new research has shown.

Scientists have discovered that egg proteins help people stay awake and alert during the working day.

“Go to work on an egg” was the famous advertising slogan used by the Egg Marketing Board in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Four decades on, scientists appear to have proved the campaigners right.

The Cambridge University findings were published in the journal Neuron.
