The Red Cross plans to resume work suspended in Pakistan but on a vastly smaller scale after the killing of a Scottish aid worker, officials said yesterday.

After an internal review following the murder in April of Khalil Dale, from Dumfries, the Red Cross said it has decided to more than halve its staff, cease visiting detainees and curtail operations in Pakistan.
