Prince William and Kate to be given new home by Queen - reports

THE Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to be gifted Anmer Hall on the Sandringham estate by the Queen ahead of the arrival of their first born child.

Reports over the weekend suggest Prince William, who married Kate Middleton in April 2011, was set to recieve the ten bedroom Georgian property which boasts a swimming pool, tennis court, stable block and kennels.

The couple announced that they were expecting a child in December.

The Norfolk property is two miles from Sandrigham House , where the Royals celebrate Christmas, and has been part of the estate since 1898.

William and his brother Harry often stayed in the property in their formative years when the house was leased by Hugh and Emilie cam Cutsem, close friends of the Prince of Wales.

Anmer Hall was the Duke and Duchess of Kent’s country retreat from 1972 to 1990.

It is currently leased by James Everett, owner of kitchen and timber company Norfolk Oak, who moved into the property in 2000 and would not comment on whether he would be renewing his lease on the peoperty.

William, 30, and Kate, who will be 31 on Wednesday, currently rent a farmhouse in Anglesey where the Duke works as an RAF search and rescue pilot.

The Queen owns around 150 properties on the 8,000 acre Sandringham estate.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said no comment would be made on priveate properties on the Queen’s private estates
