Plan to 'switch off' hotel guests

A LEADING hotel chain is launching a drive to save energy by reminding businessmen and women to switch off laptops and mobile phones in the evening.

Crowne Plaza guests requesting the service will receive a call to their room reminding them to turn off their technology at 7pm, the time most people believe is the best to stop working.

The idea will be tested in selected hotels across Europe, including 24 in the UK and Ireland, in response to research revealing that two out of three professionals struggle to switch off their technology and wind down before they go to sleep.
